Pitching to Parliament

Young people at The Ryes made history when they attended a meeting at the Houses of Parliament. Acting as co-chair and timekeepers, students Alex and Christina were chosen to be part of a select group of young people to present their case for more positive media coverage of young people in care. It marked the first time in the history of parliament that a group of young people had come together, with their own agenda and put forward their case in a committee room in parliament. There were 130 of the most influential minds in the field present, including MPs, the Children’s Rights Director and many child care professionals.
